There is no easy way to manage low performing employee. Manager's work is cut out in this situation, first thing to do is try to find out the root cause: is the employee having difficulty keeping up to the pace or having skills gaps OR a personal issue. The resolution to this problem can be designed based on this analysis. There is no one size fits all solution for this problem.
