Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us as a Trainee focusing on wholesale and foreign trade management, which is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of coffee trading. The role provides long-term development potential for someone eager to demonstrate their skills and experience in the fast-paced soft commodities environment while building a strong connection to the countries of origin and the global coffee supply chain as part of the Volcafe team.

Volcafe works across the whole green coffee supply chain to make coffee business better, together with our partners and employees. We have built and operate sustainable coffee supply chains across all our origins, addressing key economic, social and environmental issues in coffee farming communities. Our Volcafe Way farmer support programme engages with thousands of coffee farmers and provides a holistic response to the challenges they face.

This role will be working for Gollücke & Rothfos, Volcafe’s company in Germany, and will commence on 1st August 2026.

Key Accountabilities

The training includes the following focal points:

• International and Domestic Logistics: Pre-shipment logistics, incoterms, loading techniques and customs and import regulations.
• Marketing: Creation of marketing material, collaboration on social media concepts and support in the implementation of trade fairs and events.
• Finance: Accounting and dunning, dealing with foreign currencies, cash management support and maintaining contact with banks.
• Trading and Stock Exchange: Active participation in the purchase and sale of green coffee, worldwide contact with the countries of cultivation/origin and stock exchange transaction and price hedging
• Quality: Specific training in the field of green coffee, quality and sensory technology.

Skills and Experience

• School leaving certificate: Higher commercial school or (technical) Abitur.
• Interest in commercial processes, trade and international business relations.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Comfortable dealing with customers and suppliers.
• Possess fluent German language skills and a business level of English.
• Numerical Reasoning and Analytical Thinking Organizational skills, initiative and ability to work in a team.
• Confident handling of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Diese Position ist bei Gollücke & Rothfos, dem deutschen Unternehmen von Volcafe, angesiedelt und beginnt am 1. August 2026.

Hauptaufgaben

Die Ausbildung umfasst folgende Schwerpunkte:

• Internationale und nationale Logistik: Vorverschiffungslogistik, Incoterms, Verladetechniken sowie Zoll- und Einfuhrbestimmungen.
• Marketing: Erstellung von Marketingmaterialien, Mitwirkung an Social-Media-Konzepten sowie Unterstützung bei der Umsetzung von Messen und Veranstaltungen.
• Finanzen: Buchhaltung und Mahnwesen, Umgang mit Fremdwährungen, Unterstützung im Cash-Management sowie Pflege von Bankkontakten.
• Handel und Börse: Aktive Mitwirkung beim Einkauf und Verkauf von Rohkaffee, weltweiter Kontakt zu den Anbau- und Ursprungsländern sowie Börsentransaktionen und Preisabsicherung.
• Qualität: Spezifische Schulung im Bereich Rohkaffee, Qualitäts- und Sensorik Techniken.

Fähigkeiten und Erfahrungen

• Schulabschluss: Höhere Handelsschule oder (Fach-)Abitur.
• Interesse an kaufmännischen Prozessen, Handel und internationalen Geschäftsbeziehungen.
• Ausgeprägte Kommunikationsfähigkeiten im Umgang mit internen und externen Stakeholdern.
• Sicherer Umgang mit Kunden und Lieferanten.
• Verhandlungssichere Deutschkenntnisse sowie Englischkenntnisse auf Business-Niveau.
• Numerisches Verständnis und analytisches Denkvermögen, Organisationsgeschick, Eigeninitiative und Teamfähigkeit.
• Sicherer Umgang mit MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
