About the role: The AI Data Scientist is responsible for development, implementation, and operation of AI and ML solutions within the AI Sales Assistant ecosystem. The role focuses on model and prompt development, data pipelines, and ensuring reliable operations of AI systems. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams ensures business requirements are translated into data-driven solutions. The role contributes to building data-driven products by preparing data, training models, and ensuring deployment into production systems, while continuously improving model performance. Your role will be an integral part of the central AI Innovation Hub being established at Solar Trade Holding. Together in a team of developers, data scientists, project managers, and the Head of the AI Innovation Hub, you will drive AI innovation at Solar Trade.
What You Will Do

Prepare, clean, and transform data for model training

Ensure data quality, consistency and availability
Integrate data from CRM, ERP, and other business systems
Build and maintain data pipelines and feature engineering workflows

Perform feature engineering and model optimization

Support deployment and integration of models into systems
Monitor model performance and implement improvements
Design and optimize prompts and LLM-based solutions

Assist in designing internal compliance frameworks, ethical standards and operational standards in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations (e.g. EU AI Act, GDPR)

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into models and insights

Provide technical input and collaborate with project teams

Help continuously improve development processes within the AI development team

What You Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or similar
Proven experience in Data Science / Data Engineering
Advanced experience in statistical analysis, exploratory data analysis (EDA) and hypothesis-driven modeling
Strong proficiency in Python / R for data science (e.g. pandas, numpy, scikit‑learn) and AI-supported development
Expertise in feature engineering, data preparation and data quality assessment
Ability to select the right approach (statistical models vs. AI models) based on problem and data maturity
Understanding of LLMs and other AI approaches from an analytical and evaluation perspective (incl. limitations, bias, quality) business‑relevant performance metrics
Strong analytical storytelling skills to translate insights into business decisions
Experience with data processing and pipelines
Basic understanding of cloud & AI Ops concepts to collaborate effectively with AI engineers
Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset
Team-orientation and openness to collaborative with a diverse team
Ability to explain technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
C1-level English and minimum B2-level German, both written and spoken
Experience in B2B or sales analytics is considered an advantage
Knowledge of renewable energy or technology sector is considered an advantage
