What to Expect
Tesla Procurement team is looking to hire a skilled professional, ideally harmonizing experience of procurement and project management, to shape the strategy for Sustainable Raw materials in the EMEA region.
You will be part of the EMEA Raw Material procurement team, responsible to shape a sustainable strategy for commodities including Steel, Aluminum and Polymers, aligned with Tesla Global Sustainable Sourcing & Policy.
You are involved in the global development of sustainable raw material projects, closed loop solutions & end of lifecycle from an early stage, ranging from green materials pricing model and market analysis to strategy deployment and implementation.
You will be a compass for the team, being flexible to support specific commodities with procurement duties as well as the Global Sustainability effort, within Tesla fast space environment.
What You'll Do- Coordinates inputs and mandates from Responsible Sourcing, Policy and EHS teams into the EMEA Raw Material team for strategic reflection & requirements deployment
- Leads the set-up of a consistent analysis structure across the 3 commodities, in terms of market assessment (with risks and opportunities) and educated pricing models definition. This person is in charge of setting clear deliverables for the commodities buyers and ensure timelines are met
- Will present to the Global Commodities leads and to the Raw materials managers a sustainable material procurement strategy that fulfils internal targets but is still allowing a strong competitive environment for Tesla commodities, maximizing value
- Provide guidance on supplier selection, based on the evolving green requirements and regulations
- Based on key sustainability KPIs, you demand continuous improvement from suppliers
- You oversee strategy execution, translating the strategic goals & corporate governance milestones in a cross-functional action plan. You will ensure that all project tasks are completed on time
- Continuously undertake market research and industry benchmarking in order to benefit from new trends in the Global and EMEA sustainability environment
- Work collaboratively on a cross-functional level with other departments including engineering, supplier industrialization, quality, policy, global responsible sourcing.
- Support the development of possibly standardized legal drafts (e.g. MoU) for such “green materials”
- Develop & execute, engaging also EHS & waste management, a closed loop process assuring full compliance and certifications (aluminum, steel, plastics, copper..
What You'll Bring- You live direct procurement and program management within the automotive or Raw Materials´ industry. You are passionate about sustainability and having an impact
- You possess a higher vocational or university qualification in a subject such as sustainability, material/chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or business management, or equivalent experience
- Experience in purchasing one or more of the relevant commodities, in-depth technical knowledge of the products and demonstration of excellence in project coordination
- Knowledge of automotive processes and strong analytics skills: strong value analysis & data modelling skills will be a strong plus, even in absence of specific Raw Materials expertise. Precision in data management, mental agility and problem-solving skills are as well key to the job
- You are fluent in English and/or German
