I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ALDI (Brighton, England) in Apr 2018
Interview
I had to complete a series of online tests and then take part in a recorded online interview where you are asked a series of questions and have a set amount of time to provide your answer.
Application form, video interview, group assessment, store experience and last of all a final interview with the operations director. The process is long and drawn out, just to get to the group assesment it took 7 weeks. Attended the group assessment, a ridiculous way of trying to show off your skills around 30 other candidates who are going for the same role! I gave up after this part of the process as have heard horror stories from current staff around working conditions, hours and treatment. The money may be good, but wont be great when your dead! Best decision ever that I made to avoid this company. Im happy in a position that allows me to have a social life
I applied in-person. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Akron, OH) in Oct 2017
Interview
Received a call for a meet and greet from a Store Manager. Took myself and a small group of potential candidates for a tour of the store, then conducted individual interviews (mine was about 30 mins). Got a call later that day to set up a second interview with the district manager. After the second interview, that district manager passed my application along to another district manager, whom then contacted me for a third interview. After my third interview, I was contacted by the first district manager to set up a fourth interview with the Director of Operations. With my limited availability (considering I still have a full time job), the process took 5 weeks. I felt that the process was a bit much and a little overwhelming. The last three interviews were all very similar, there were a lot of overlapping questions and a lot of me explaining my work history and background. To not be offered the job after all the time I dedicated would be one reason I wouldn't recommend this job. Very uncertain what they might have been looking for, considering I felt over qualified and was willing to take a pay cut to work for them. I am a petite female, I was questioned many times on my ability to lift 40lbs and keep up with the work load, maybe I didn't sell myself well enough with my responses to those questions.
