I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Aberdeen, Schottland) in Nov 2017
Interview
Applied online. Received email to book for Group Interview at a local ALDI store. Arrived 10m early, candidates were waiting outside of main office. We were 5 of us and were taken inside a room with a large table were we sat around. A pleasant manager explained the process and the interview started. At the end of the process we were greeted out and told we would be contacted.
4. Group exercise: prioritise tasks/responsibilities, each was given in A4 paper and we had to put it in order of preference (examples included health and safety, delivering excellent customer service, knowing the targets of the shop, knowing where everything is in the shop floor). We had 5 minutes only and it was a team effort.
We then had to explain why we picked the first 2 and why the last one. Difficult choice since democratically we elected knowing where everything is in the shop as being last (which I opposed since for efficiency it was more important than knowing the targets, and somehow I ended up trying to defend it)
I applied online. I interviewed at ALDI (Melbourne) in Feb 2015
Interview
You're brought into a group setting (most likely to see how you interact with people you don't know) and then interviewed privately. They also get you to complete an aptitude test.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Canterbury, England) in Nov 2017
Interview
Initial online tests comprised a pesonality type multiple choice test, followed by a multiple choice test on what you would be most / least likely to do in certain situations. Invited to interview just over a week later.
Interview: I was asked to wait at the packing area at the front of the store. I was then led through to a small staff canteen where the interview took place. There was only one interviewer: one of Aldi's Area Managers. The questions were quite simple: tell me about yourself, why do you want to work in retail, what do you know about Aldi, what would your ideal number of hours per week be, etc.
