I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Birmingham, England) in Mar 2019
Interview
Filled in an online application form which was pretty standard but rather lengthy.
Received email inviting me to a group assessment and was asked to pick a time.
Group assessment involved 13 of us all 'interviewing' at once.
Everyone gave a brief introduction; name, age, previous employment etc etc.
Filled out a registration sheet.
What do you know about Aldi?
Basic maths test.
Group discussion putting 6 tasks into order of priority with one person then reading out the groups decision.
Any questions?
All 13 of us were finished in just over 35 minutes.
Then an automated rejection less than 24 hours later.
I'm just going to chalk this one up as my job searching rock bottom, I'm not even classing it as an interview. The whole process made me feel very disposable and worthless which I get that you are as a jobseeker, but you sort of want them to pretend that you aren't. The whole thing felt very Aldi in that it was a 'stack them high sell them low' type operation, discount interviewing at it's efficient best.

Interview
I completed the online assessment in March 2019 and got offered to come to a group assessment for 60 minutes.
Turned up at Aldi and asked the checkout guy where to go, he was kind and showed me to the staffroom. A few minutes later the other two candidates arrived underdressed which made me in a suit feel a little uncomfortable but its always best to dress appropriately.
The Area Manager comes in, gives us some info about Aldi for around 5 minutes then asks us to tell us a little about ourselves. I was last and the other two went first and were very brief, mine lasted a little longer but felt uncomfortable again as the others were short and sweet. After this, we asked a couple of questions and that was it.
Just do a one-on-one 10-15 minute interview, it lets people be themselves a little more and this was an absolute joke!
Prep time, driving time and money wasted, what a complete shambles and waste of peoples time. I won't be applying with Aldi again.
