5 rounds, not bad, interviewer are friendly, some of the interviewer seems dull, technical depth feels shallower than other chinese tech company. Its alright. Location is nice, quite a lot of rounds of interview though
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AMD (Markham, ON) in Nov 2025
Interview
1-hour technical interview with 2 people from the team. Interview begins by questions about your background/skills. With the remaining time, you will be asked technical questions on the following topics:
- Logic function a particular circuit performs
- Walkthrough of the code for an FSM
- Setup time, hold time, propagation delay
I had taken 4 weeks to finish my interview. First round was with the team person, who explained me overall work. Second with manager sharing me differnet expectation of work and asked me few questions from my resume. Next was with other team person who did a descent interview and knew what they were looking for. Next round was with senior director who assumed I didn’t know what role I applied for and had different expectation from same role. Had few leadership questions. Next round with CVP and he had few my ex product related questions and didn’t seem to know which role I applied to and asked me that during interview.
After a week I got auto reject mail, I had applied for senior Devops role as per job description and they evaluated for devops manager role and all the interviews were taken by non Devops team.
I have no idea should I say this was good or bad. I just realised this is not for me, probably I wouldn’t have stayed for longer if I got selected too with all the confusion in work
