I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Boulder, CO) in Sep 2019
Interview
3 Code challenges followed by an interview over video call. The code challenges were pretty easy, requiring a basic knowledge of computer science and programming. The video conference interview was a lot more difficult, with many curveball questions I didn’t see anywhere online while studying
Process took 4+ months. Applied through the portal in August, received OA in November, interview in December.
Did average on OA, 4/7 correct on part 1, passed around half the test cases on part 2. Received interview schedule form a few days later which was a suprise.
Interview consisted of 1 LP question, 1 leetcode easy, 1 leetcode medium/hard. Then around 10 minutes for me ask questions. Email stated it would take 45 minutes but went around 65.
It was comprehensive and well done. The last 20 minutes were set aside for a programming question, which was to check if a string was balanced (in terms of parenthesis)
