Recruiter was fantastic but interview experience with hiring manager was really bad. He was clearly not interested in the process (it was as though he was forced to go through the interview) and did not seem to understand or even make an effort to understand what was said. He kept making me repeat the same point...was he even listening? There was zero enthusiasm and zero interest in getting to know and engage the candidate. Thereafter, when it was my turn to ask questions, his boredom (and rudeness) showed when he gave superficial sweeping answers that weren't even related to the questions asked. Please do respect your candidate's time as well as an interview is also a chance for the candidate to find out more about Amazon and its people.
The recruiter sent me an initial email to set up an interview and then ignored all correspondence for the next two weeks. The phone screen had one question and that was it. I found out I was rejected through the web portal several days later.
