I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon Web Services in Nov 2024
Interview
I encountered significant challenges during the scheduling process due to the substantial time zone difference (13 hours) with the foreign recruiters. They preferred scheduling interviews with only 24 hours' notice, which caused conflicts with my existing commitments. It took five attempts to secure a scheduled time.
The first-round interview with the pre-screen hiring manager seemed promising. The conversation was productive, and the hiring manager expressed enthusiasm about my skills and experience, stating I had the potential to excel in the role. He even indicated that he was recommending that I move forward in the interview process and who I would meet with next.
However, the experience took a disappointing turn. Just 24 hours later, I received a generic email from AWS HR stating that I was no longer being considered for the position, as they had decided to move forward with other candidates.
