Interview
I only had just one Skype Interview. The interview was mostly behavioral and situational. There were no technical questions about their products. Basically its all about saying how you will be empathetic towards the customer and address their emotional state before addressing their technical issue. The asked questions like, "Say a customer called in and was angry about how he just dropped his new iPad and the screen cracked, how would you react?" They also asked about your interest in technology and just basic things about previous jobs I've had

Question 1
What would you do if you were on a long phone call that exceeded past your work shift?

Interview
I entered my application on the Apple Corporate website around September 30, 2014. I received a call the next day from an Apple Recruiter who asked me very general questions about my availability and experience as well as gave me more information about the position, including pay rate. After speaking with her for about 5 to 10 minutes, she scheduled an interview with a second recruiter for the next day.
This interview was supposed to be via Skype but at the last minute i realized my Skype account didnt work so it was changed to a phone interview. That one took about 20 mins. It went well and I was told I would receive an email to schedule a third interview with a Team Manager. The email came the next day, which was a Friday, i went online and scheduled my interview for the following Monday. That interview lasted about 30 mins and then within an hour of completing that interview I got the call that I was being offered a position contigent on a background check.
I received an email the following day from HireRight and submitted the information for the background check. It took about 9 days after submitting the background info for Apple to get back to me. They did offer me the job and i happily accepted. Now im just waiting for paperwork and my equipment to come via Fedex.
Overall the experience was good. It seemed to move very quickly until the background check portion which can apparently take a while. The interviews are very typical with the exception of a few roleplay scenarios in the last one. The main thing to remember is to empathize with the client and express how sorry you are they are having problems. The people i interviewed with were all very friendly and made the process very easy!
Im very excited to get started!
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Apple (Limerick, Limerick) in Oct 2014
Interview
I applied online via a jobs website and the next day an Apple recruiter contacted me via Email. I was given some questions to fill out regarding my internet connection speed, office space at home, phone connection and so on. She also sent me on some more details related to the job. The next day I received another Email asking on my availability / notice period etc. A few days later I received an Email giving me details of a Skype interview with the Hiring Manager and details of another recorded technical test I had to take online with a company called HireVue. I was also given a login for the background check company HireRight to fill out.
I completed the interview on Skype which took about 55 mins as the interviewer was a nice guy to talk to and we went off topic on some occasions when talking about interests outside of work etc which took the pressure off here and there. Basically the interview is very customer orientated including some scenarios such as dealing wtih an irate customer who's iPhone needs replacement etc. If you have customer support experience you will be fine. Also the usual other questions such as how you deal with stress and so on, how do you settle a dispute with a team member. Give example scenarios for everything you talk about. As I mentioned we talked about other interests, hobbies...also make sure you have the basic facts about Apple and know the names of at least 7 or 8 products. Know things like the CEO of Apple, also know things like who founded the company and the HQ address.
The technical test is recorded online - you get a question on the screen and the site records your video answers. If you have basic technical knowledge you will be fine...don't worry if you can't answer some of the questions as they encourage you to finish the test anyway, this information can be thought to you in the training but good customer service comes from a personality that suits it, its hard to teach that.
Finally I filled out my background check form and sent it off so I'm just waiting now to see what happens, either way if I get the job or not it was a good experience as I hadn't done a video interview before. Hope this helps someone else going for it...good luck!
