I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CGI (Fairfax, VA) in Nov 2015
Interview
Applied for the position on school career service website, got selected for the on-campus interview. It was a 30 minutes face to face conversation which was mainly behavioral; the interviewer asked series of questions and jot down your answers. Waited for two weeks to received an email arranging an onsite interview. I talked with two current business analysts at CGI for 30 minutes each. Before the interview started, there's a short session introducing the company and a lunch panel where candidates are encouraged to ask current employees any questions. After the two interviews, I filled a form which asked for my visa status, availability to start, etc. and submitted it back to the recruiter. If they like you, you should expect to hear back very soon after the onsite day. I was told a week later that they decided to move forward with other candidates.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Nothing special. Mostly behavioral questions; one interviewer had a poker face, just remembered to calm down and articulate your stories as usual instead of losing your pace.
CGI scheduled the interview for 30 minutes and there was only one interviewer. He initially asked basic questions about background and experience. He explained about the company and was open to questions
Was super laid back and casual, the interviewer was super nice! Still had typical interview questions (describe a time where..., etc) but overall pretty stress-free first-round interview.
Lasted about 40-45 minutes as the interviewer was very conversational as well. Only advice I can give is to be personable and have a conversation.
I applied online. I interviewed at CGI in Oct 2025
Interview
Applied online, was told to connect with a recruiter at my university's job fair. They forwarded along my resume. There was a phone interview over Handshake. There was another interview with 2 parts (a technical and a personal) a few weeks later. The interviewer was around 10 minutes late with no communication which threw off the second interview. There was also supposed to be a Q&A the same day, but it got rescheduled to several weeks later. There was very little communication unless I initiated it. The whole process felt very unprofessional.
