I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One in May 2026
Interview
HR screen then received Code Signal Assessment. Assessment had 4 questions to be completed within an hour. First two were LC easy. Third question was a matrix one with tedious operations (LC medium). Fourth one was using substrings to see if it matched desired string output (either LC medium or hard). After passing the assessment, you move on to Power Day, which is 4 1-hour long interviews: case study, behavioral, sys design, tech. I am still undergoing Power Day
I applied online. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA)
Interview
Here is a more polished and complete version:
The interview process was very straightforward and well-organized. The HR team guided me through each step clearly and kept me informed throughout the process.
The overall process included five stages:
1. **Online Assessment (OA)**
The first step was an online assessment to evaluate basic technical and problem-solving skills.
2. **HR Call**
After the OA, I had a call with HR to discuss my background, interest in the role, expectations, and the overall interview process.
3. **Take-Home Assignment**
The next step was a take-home assignment, which allowed me to demonstrate my analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities in a more practical setting.
4. **Power Day — 4 Rounds**
The final interview stage was a Power Day with four rounds. These rounds covered different areas, such as technical skills, case/project discussion, behavioral questions, and role fit.
5. **Decision**
After the Power Day, the team moved to the final decision stage.
Overall, it was a very smooth and easy-to-follow process. HR was very supportive and provided guidance throughout the entire process, which made the experience clear and manageable.
