The interview process was quick and easy. They asked a few basic questions and thoroughly explained the position before I left. I felt very at ease with the interviewing manager.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Although Dollar General will write your paycheck, who will you ultimately be working for?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General (Hamilton, IN) in Apr 2013
Interview
I went in without any job experience (because I was a student) and I was hired and promoted quickly. The worst part of the application process was the assessment. It asks a lot of "what would you do if..." questions. Once that is out of the way, the process moves pretty quickly. I was in for an interview the day after they received my assessment and started work 2 days after my interview. I watched training videos the first couple days before getting 1:1 training. The manager that I interviewed with was awesome. Started the interview with "I hate interview questions, so just answer the best you can."
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Dollar General (Oklahoma City, OK) in Feb 2014
Interview
All i can say is two words "Very sloppy" they get so many applications and so many new managers that it seems like they are running a circus. If i was running the place due to constant corporate intervention and punishment i would not be able to keep the job long.

Question 1
Can't really remember the questions, but all i know is that they hardly asked any and it was very chaotic before employment there, during employment and after employment it still is a mess even when i walk in.
