I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Dollar General (Louisville, KY) in Apr 2015
Interview
I went to an open interview, and I was quickly hired on the spot. The manager gave me information on the drug testing center, and I started within the next week. Not all interviews will be like this, but I knew he was in desperate need of new employees for the store. Having experience will help your interview process.

Interview
Asked me simple questions. Manager was very easy going. I had no prior work experience so she couldn't ask me the same questions as everyone else. Instead she asked me to tell her why she should hire me over the other people she has already interviewed who have prior work experience.

Interview
It was really really lax. I applied online and literally maybe the next day, if not the day after that, I was called in for an interview. I went in for an interview maybe 2 days later. I was interviewed by the Assistant Store Manager and The office manager. They asked me a few simple questions about myself, and my availability. I told them I was a student, and about my one and only past job. They asked me some scenario questions and then a math question.
Once I was finished with the interview, the ASM looked pleased and told me on my way out that they would call me tomorrow or the day after to schedule my training. I was called the next day and started right away just because it was quick and convenient and the first place I heard back from.

Question 1
What would I do if a customer asked me where something was and I didn't know?
A simple math question about change. If a customer's total was $8.17 and they give you $10.00 and you punch in the register $10.00 but then the customer adds a quarter after the register calculates it, what would their new total be?
