I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at EY (Kiew, ) in Jun 2012
Interview
I applied for the position online just after my graduation in 2012.
EY has 4 stages of staff hiring:
1. Tests (numerical & verbal reasoning, English - multiple choice via computer, accounting - multiple choice + calculation on paper).
2. Interview with HR.
3. Interview with manager (the most important stage, when basically whether you will be hired is decided).
4. Interview with partner.
The whole process of hiring is very long - it can take up to 4 months.
I successfully pass the first two stages. My test results were not outstanding, but it is not so important, because how you act on interview is essential. On my second interview I was nervous, and could not crack some numbers. Also, I refuse to change my mind in relation to one behavioral question, although interviewers gave me hints that they expect different answer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
First interview
Standard HR questions like your plans for the 5, 10 years, strengths and weaknesses, communication skills etc.
Second interview
Some specific questions related to accounting - like depreciation, assets' revaluation, cost of sales etc. - and behavioral questions:
1. Describe how will you act in case you are sure that your team leader is mistaken, and refuse to admit it? Whether you will contact someone higher in a hierarchy or try to deal with it directly inside your team?
I had a positive interview experience with EY. The process was well-structured and professional. The interviewers were courteous and created a comfortable environment to discuss my background, technical skills, and problem-solving approach.
