I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at H&M (Dunfermline, Schottland) in Nov 2015
Interview
Applied online and got random call from the store manager around a week later for a phone interview so was not prepared but it seemed to go ok as I got a call the following day to arrange an in-store interview.
The interview was 2-1 which I was not expecting but the atmosphere was very relaxed, one was interviewing while the other took notes and would occasionally join in the conversation. Questions were fairly standard for a retail position, nothing to worry about too much, it felt more like a chat really. Make sure you do your research on H&M and why you want to work for them as they will ask you about this in your interview.
The next day I then received another phone call inviting me to a 1 hour trial in store (un-paid), I was sent to help in delivery for 30 mins and on the shop floor for 30 mins. At the end I was given immediate feedback, 3 strengths and 1 weakness, it was all very positive and they didn't feel they had any weakness to put down for me so it was left blank. Once this was done they told me I would hear back in 3 days at the latest, however this came and went and I still have not heard back so I am assuming I did not get the job.
It's a shame really, I had had such a positive experience up until this point and was fairly confident in the fact I had gotten the job. I did not receive a call or even an email informing me of their decision which was very disappointing.

I applied online. I interviewed at H&M (Dundalk) in Mar 2026
Interview
It was lovely, very interactive. Getting to meet new people, seeing the H&M store was really nice. The supervisor was really professional and warm. First we got to know each other, then did a question and answers round with everyone, situation based, customer service based, questions to display your skills etc, talking about H&M values and then we had a group task, to come with a outfit based on the provided situation.
