I applied through college or university. The process took 7 months. I interviewed at Infosys (Kolkata) in Mar 2010
Interview
Campus Recruitment, not so difficult process as they tend to take the max number of students to undergo their training process and then work for their company. Communications initially start with the CCO and then through mails. Will have a skill test and then HR interview. You should be willing to learn and must have a positive and sensible approach to things in order to get through the interview an survive in this company.
2 rounds of interview for Infosys first is coding round and then managerial round mostly and sometimes test is also there. Interview is not tough though but referral is important

Interview
Following the assessment test, got shortlisted for the interview phase. The session itself was very smooth; the interviewer created a supportive and comfortable environment right from the beginning. The conversation centered around my project, where I had the opportunity to detail its technical aspects, architectural choices, and the underlying motivation for building it.
Multiple rounds including face to face and aptitude depending on the role type and resume and project related questions were asked with focus on technical concepts including data structures and algorithms
