I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Infosys in Jun 2008
Interview
There was an aptitude test which consisted of 10 questions on English, 10 questions on Maths and 10 questions on Rewasoning. The test was very easy and once can easily score a comfortable 25/30 . However the pass mark for Infosys was only 16 marks. The published the list of people who cleared the test at around mid night and people were asked to be ready for interviews in the morning. Though designated time was 9:00 a.m. the interview started late at around 10:00 a.m. It was a 1:1 interview where they asked basic HR type questions such as your strengths, tell me about yourself, why Infosys, etc. They also asked a few puzzles which were quite easy ones and required basic common sense. Finally the interviwer asked if I had any questions. Thats all pretty simple and cakewalk, I did not ecven prepare for the interview.

Interview
Following the assessment test, got shortlisted for the interview phase. The session itself was very smooth; the interviewer created a supportive and comfortable environment right from the beginning. The conversation centered around my project, where I had the opportunity to detail its technical aspects, architectural choices, and the underlying motivation for building it.
Multiple rounds including face to face and aptitude depending on the role type and resume and project related questions were asked with focus on technical concepts including data structures and algorithms
The recruitment process started with an online assessment that included aptitude, reasoning, verbal ability, and programming questions. Candidates who cleared the assessment were invited for a technical and HR interview. The interview lasted around 30 minutes and focused on Java fundamentals, projects mentioned in the resume, OOP concepts, certifications, and basic HR questions. The interviewers were friendly and gave sufficient time to answer.
