I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Johnson Controls in Sep 2024
Interview
A Talent Specialist emailed me, offering available days and times to schedule the video call. A few days went by before I inquired on the process, before the interview was confirmed with what was supposed to be two interviewers. Only one of the two individuals made the meeting.
It was more of an introduction than an interview. Very casual. There were softball questions, a breakdown of the role, and company benefits. I was quickly provided with next steps, being told "I'll be finishing first rounds by the middle of next week at the latest. We'd like to set up another call with (interviewer who missed this meeting) and you'll hear from us by the end of next week. If you have any questions email me."
I never received her email and next week came and went. I tried emailing the original Talent Specialist and she never responded. It wasn't until about five weeks later when another Talent Specialist emailed me, offering me dates and times for an interview. I assumed this was the second round, but the day of this confirmed interview, I was emailed again, telling me "The interview will be canceled because interviewers told me one of them they already had a meeting with you. Kind regards." Once again, I tried emailing and even calling the direct line to this Talent Specialist. It has been almost seven weeks since I first interviewed and haven't been able to find out anything about my status.
This has easily been the most mishandled application process I've ever encountered and I'm still unsure as to what's going on.
