I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at KPMG
Interview
Routine consulting interview with relatively standard behavioural questions as would be expected. There was some discussion of areas of expertise and approach to selling work. Some focus on cultural fit. Friendly interviewers made me feel welcome.

Question 1
Client development approach / how to build sales pipeline
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at KPMG (London, England) in Oct 2022
Interview
Initial chat with recruiter then an hour with two directors. This was focused on selling and general leadership skills and quite informal/unstructured. I think one of these was the hiring managers but it was never made clear. Next stage was with a n hour with a partner who seemed more interested in pre-sales and pipeline-building. I passed that and went on to a CEO (not the group CEO, one for an element of their technical offering) who asked about my team and management style, etc. At the end of the interview he said that he would recommend that I be passed on to a panel. I waited a couple of weeks and emailed the recruiter, then emailed again a few days later. She replied that she didn’t know the outcome. I chased again and after a month always told that all applications were being dropped and their were reconsidering the role. Amazingly frustrating approach to recruitment for a senior role. Extremely poor comms from recruitment. Genuinely disappointing all the way through.
