I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at KPMG (Denver, CO) in Sep 2010
Interview
The key to interviewing with any of the big four accounting firms for entry-level positions is personality. Experienced interviewers have told me that they are generally unconcerned with querying the interviewee's accounting knowledge or experience. They already know that anyone selected for an interview is smart. They look for personality. What they really want to know is if they will be able to spend twelve hours in a small room with you every day for two months. They will often ask some situational questions, but will mostly judge the interview based on the casual conversation throughout. My interviewer, who is now my manager, asked about which sports I liked.
