KPMG Senior Analyst interview questions

Contacted via external recruiting firm and via internal firm. Had an interview with internal HR and eventually the hiring managers. The hiring managers were very friendly and I enjoyed speaking to them (it went much better than the initial interview with HR). Received an offer letter from external recruiting KPMG and given a start date. However, before I even started I was told the budget was cut. It left me w/o a job and I had to hurry and get another. I don’t know what to think of this.
