I recently had a rather disheartening interview experience with a company's HR department that left much to be desired. The interview quickly shifted into an exhaustive interrogation about my technical expertise and team management experiences, focusing heavily on specifics like agile methodologies, frameworks, and coding practices, such as my familiarity with PHP, Symfony, Node.js, Golang, and my approach to microservices and code quality. Despite my detailed responses and willingness to adapt to new frameworks, the depth of the questioning seemed disproportionate and somewhat irrelevant to the role I had applied for. Moreover, the conversation extended into my past job transitions and future career aspirations, along with how I train junior developers and my expectations from a workplace culture.
Regrettably, after investing significant time and effort in this comprehensive dialogue, the follow-up process was frustratingly slow, and ultimately, I was left without any communication from the company's side. The lack of feedback or even a courteous update after such a detailed interview felt disrespectful and unprofessional, making the whole experience feel like a complete waste of time and effort.
