I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Liverpool, England) in Aug 2017
Interview
Took 2 weeks from applying to getting invite online for interview. Was invited to store and interviewed by the area manager. Asked standard questions why Lidl and not Aldi? What was my view on equality?

Interview
Applied online via their careers page, answered a few simple questions and uploaded my CV with covering letter. About 4 days later I received an email to say they'd had a lot of interest and were still processing applications. Another 4 days later I had an email inviting me to an interview.
The interview was held at a local hotel. Please don't go in to this interview thinking 'it's just Lidl, how can I not get a job at Lidl?' Genuinely one of the hardest interviews I've ever had. You could cut the atmosphere in the room with a knife, wether they do this on purpose to make you feel under pressure, who knows?
The interview was held in what can only be described as a huge assembly hall, it was ice cold in there and all other interviewees were waiting at the back. This made me feel so nervous as they can quite clearly hear every word you say, and I could hear them discussing the previous person they'd interviewed before me, really put me off.
I was interviewed by two men, one of which was probably the rudest man I'd ever met. He didn't seem to like ANY of my answers as to why I'd left my previous job or even why I'd recently moved to the area. All I got in response to every answer was 'yes I know that but WHY' I honestly felt like walking out in tears, but I held it together.
Anyway, I was asked very basic questions like why I wanted to work for Lidl, do I have any unspent convictions and if I drove etc. Then I had to go through some scenario based questions which I honestly found difficult.
Do your research on Lidl!!! I was asked if I shop there, I don't but said yes and then I was asked what my favourite product was they sell. Luckily, I had actually been in a few days prior to look around and had something from the bakery so I used that. It is honestly like they want you to come up with golden answers for everything.
After waiting three days regardless of feeling like I totally sucked at the interview I actually got offered the job on a 20 hour contract!

Interview
I applied for the role several months ago, so when I got an email saying that they'd like to invite me for an interview I totally forgot that I applied, they also gave me 3 days notice of the interview (email on the 3rd, interview on 6th).
Interview was with area manager and store manager, both really nice
There was a lot of questions to go through and there was also a role play scenario that I had to do with them (which made me feel a bit silly and embarrassed)
It was a very hard interview and they do expect full flexibility, which i told them was not possible cause im a student but i dont start until september, so its a question of whether they will be flexible for me when im back at uni.
The next morning of the interview I got a call saying they were offering me the job which I was over the moon and very surprised about! I didn't actually start the job until a month after so the process is very long, if you include me applying, interview and starting the job, it was several months

Question 1
There's a customer who wants 30 cases of our most expensive champagne, but you can only see 10 on shelf and there aren't any in warehouse because there's been a flood. Show me through roleplay, as I'm the customer, what you would do in this situation?
