I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft in Nov 2018
Interview
Did a campus interview with an alumni. Then proceeded to the onsite interview, which was 4 rounds of 45 minute interviews. While I interviewed under a specific engineering group (Cloud and AI), my interviewers were all from different teams and I actually will not be placed on a team until later (as opposed to most people's experiences of interviewing with a more specific team).
