Straight interview with the HR team and then the Hiring manager.
Asked basic questions about accounting and mutual funds. Was more focused on the behavioral questions. Asked about how we would respond to sudden situations and long work hours, and where we see progress
I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at RBC (Vancouver, BC) in Sep 2023
Interview
A software engineer interview evaluates coding ability, problem-solving, and system design. Candidates explain past projects, tackle algorithmic challenges, and discuss trade-offs. Communication, collaboration, and adaptability matter alongside technical skills. Strong interviews balance depth in knowledge with creativity and practical reasoning.
After the initial screening, I had a technical interview with the team lead. Just did LeetCode Easy problems. Afterwards, had 3 interviews scheduled within the next two weeks. I found it odd the interviews weren't in rounds...I assumed they were either really interested or needed to hire fast. The first was behavioural with some general technical questions, then another technical one, and the last with a VP. I was ghosted afterwards. Extremely unprofessional hiring process for such a large corporation.
