      Senior Engineering Specialist Interview

      Feb 6, 2017
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Bengaluru
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Software AG (Bengaluru) in Dec 2016

      Interview

The company is very particular while selecting the profile. Because my profile got selected because of product company experience, where two of my colleague's profile got rejected as they are not having any of the product company experience. The consultancy behaved very nice initially and told a lot about software ag to make me attend the interview. It was one Saturday, I reached at 9 AM for the interview. There were around 60-80 candidates came for the interview. 1st Round: Java, Algorithm, Javascript 2nd Round: Data Structure, Algorithm 3rd Round: Data Structure, Algorithm, Problem Solving, Design Pattern, System Design I was there till 5 PM for this three rounds. 4th Round: Techno-Managerial Round (Happened the next week on a weak day) 5th Round: HR Round (Same-day as 4th round) - On the salary I told market standard 30% and they did not discuss anything on the same.(I mentioned the same expectation to the consultancy before) Consultancy asked me to submit all the documents along with the candidature form. Later the consultancy suddenly forced me the accepted a salary which is pretty much the same as my salary. Software ag did not even bother to give me a call to discuss anything on the salary. After a long time discussion with the consultancy, somehow the consultancy arranged a telecon with software ag HR and I got to hear the same from the HR on the salary. I thought of moving on, but software ag hiring manager wanted to have a word with me and I felt a sense of hope and professionalism. I went there with a scheduled appointment and what I got to know there something totally made me dislike this company and I made my mind that I will never join this company in my lifetime. Software ag along with the consultancy found a problem with my hike in current company and gave an excuse that I got a recent hike. They look like a product company, but their salary structure is purely a confusing service based. They have two type of agreement, one is fixed and the other is variable(10%). If you are opting for fixed, then you are not eligible for incentives. Both these salary structure were less than my current salary. I noticed both software ag and the consultancy are not at all professional and waste a lot of time of candidates. I was initially thinking, my salary is a bit high for my experience, but later in another interview, I met some of the candidates who went through the same experience. So we all decided to post our experience to help other candidates. If software ag can not afford us, they should not have called us for the interview. There is no point wasting our time.
