I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at TD (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2021
Interview
I can describe the interview experience as a Data Challenge type:
First part: Coding/SQL interview
The first part of the interview (coding test) included 2 SQL query questions and one Python algorithm question.
Second part: Statistics and ML interview
For the ML interview, I was asked general questions regarding the end to end of more training, how I would do your data cleaning, feature engineering, mode selection, model performance over time etc. There won’t be a coding. Requirement or anything hands on.
Third part: History and fit interview
This part will focus a lot on your resume and I was asked some standard behavioral questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Q: How would you describe Machine Learning to a 10-year-old kid?
Q: Imagine that you assume that several models can be a good choice for your dataset, and you have a limited time, how would you choose your model?
A technical test is required, along with 4 rounds of interviews, and the process is slow. The overall interview process is smooth and not very difficult, and you are expected to be asked to solve a technical problem.

Question 1
Tell me about your experience working as part of a team.

Interview
The interview process was fairly quick and well-organized. It started with an initial screening with the recruiter, followed by a panel interview with senior managers, and then final interviews with department heads. Overall, the process felt structured and efficient, and each stage provided a good opportunity to learn more about the role, the team, and expectations.
The recruiter was helpful in setting expectations and keeping the process moving. The panel and final interviews were professional and gave me a better understanding of the department, leadership style, and priorities. I appreciated the opportunity to speak with different stakeholders throughout the process.
One area for improvement could be providing a bit more detail upfront about the structure of each interview stage, including who would be participating and what topics would be covered. This would help candidates prepare more effectively.
The second round includes behavioral questions, in-depth resume-specific questions, and some coding questions. So be sure to be familiar with your resume. It took about 45 mins to 1 hour
