I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at US Army (Mount Vernon, IL)
Interview
The hiring and interview process is pretty straight forward. There is a ton of paperwork to fill out, and it can be fairly time consuming but it's worth it. You will be asked many questions about your background and what you have done. There will be a physical and a test to determine what jobs you're eligible for, but anyone with a basic education should be able to pass that with ease.

They ask about drugs and criminal history, and those points are hit numerous times through the process.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at US Army (Jacksonville, FL) in Feb 2012
Interview
Positive atmosphere with informative recruiters. Helpful in providing information about the organization and detailed description of work expectations. Provided help with preparation of physical demands and work to ensure I was ready to transition from civilian to military lifestyle.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at US Army (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2011
Interview
Pointless. Might as well signed the contract with my eyes closed because the recruiters don't care what your answers were. The recruiter pretended to know what every MOS was about and proceeded to describe each. I later found out that the particular job field I chose has nothing to do with the job I signed up for. Recruiters pray on young adults that are desperate for money and will constantly contact you until respond how they want you to respond. If I could go back and not sign up, I would.
