I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at US Army (Phoenix, AZ) in Apr 2011
Interview
As long as you pass the ASVAB, background check and the pt test, you've almost got a guaranteed spot. Then as long as you pass basic training you will for sure have a job in the U.S. Army. It's a fairly simple process and the Army isn't too strict on letting people in. As long as you're not a criminal or using illegal substances they will be able to find a job for you.
