      Wind Turbine Service Technician Interview

      Mar 15, 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Vestas Wind Systems in Jan 2009

      Interview

If the site manager wants you...he will give you a heads up on when to apply and guide you on what to write, but you will have to submit on the company website. In the meantime...he will have called the hiring manager and tell them to look-out for your application. It has to look good. At the sam time, they must accept some random people, even if they don't plan on keeping them. But if you happen to be one of these randoms, then you will at least get a window of opportunity to win over the manager and become a solid guy/gal. Keep in mind they have to appear politicaly correct and careful not to blatantly break any rules or state labor codes. Keep in mind the site manager is very concerned with having people on his site that he can trust...under any circumstance. It is a small industry and a tarnished name can cost him all he has worked for...he is thinking about this constantly. Build trust and you can do no harm.

      Interview

They will ask you if you know what PLC stands for. They will ask about different electrical components and your SCADA knowledge. Also suggest you know about the company because they will ask what you know about them. They are notorious for dragging their feet about having anyone fro HR contact you.
