I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Walmart (Bentonville, AR) in Jan 2011
Interview
I got the feeling management wanted to see how well you would work with others. It seemed to be more of will they work well on this team or that team. Yes they did want to make sure you could perform the job you were interviewing for but once they realized you were smart enough to handle that they really wanted to dig into your personality.
I went through a series of interviews and it was an all day process. I was exhausted by the end of the day and again I think that was intentional. As a stress test of sorts. Overall their interview process was admirable. I'm not sure if every department or group goes through a similar process.

Question 1
Tell us a time when you had a deadline and you did not make it.
The process included a screening, a conversation with the hiring manager, and then a series of other interviews. The call with the recruiter wasn't great.
I was asked to present myself and after I finished, they said that one of my talking points was particularly interesting. The only problem was that I never talked about that. The recruiter was on their phone and I could hear them texting on iMessage.
After a lengthy process, I received an automated rejection email.
Great process and prompt reponse even if i didnt get the job it was a good time and experience to be a part of all things considering. Will try to be in there again
I have only have a phone screener and it was a 15 minute call asking about my experience and expectations of the job. It was a very easy call but now waiting to hear if I am selected for an interview person interview.
