I applied through other source. I interviewed at envelio (Berlin) in May 2023
Interview
I got invited for interview by the company directly via a recruiter agency. The process was slow but pleasant. The job portal through which I was contacted clearly stated my expected salary but after about 5-6 weeks of hope and excitement, I was offered quite lower than my expected salary which actually turned out to be lesser than what I was making at my then employer. The offer was declined.
The product, culture and personnel seemed cool but the business probably still operates as a conventional German entity where they offer the bare minimum in the hope of negotiations (pure speculation on my part). However, nowadays it is difficult to trust an employer with that mindset as it gives the impression that throughout your tenure at the company, you will have to negotiate for any raises. I personally believe in such a scenario your financial growth totally depends on your power of negotiation and not on your ability and/or skills.
We are happy to hear that you had a positive impression of our product and our culture. At the same time, we are sorry to learn that you've been unhappy with the expectation management in terms of salary.
We always try to give transparency about salary throughout the application process. We're sorry that it felt like a surprise in your case.
A salary indication which comes along with a job advertisement is only a rough range from our side. It should give an orientation of whether this range is within your own expectations. However, the final salary varies in terms of the skill set and the experience of the talent.
We hope that you found a position that is more in line with your expectations and wish you all the best.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at envelio in Nov 2019
Interview
I applied to an advertised position with my CV, cover letter, and transcripts. I was invited to a phone interview a few days later. Unfortunately there were some technical issues during the call as the program they were using was not working well on my computer, which did not have Microsoft Office business applications. I was interviewed by a team lead and HR manager, and it lasted around 30 minutes. I received a rejection a few days later and received feedback that it was a very competitive selection due to a large pool of candidates. If I were successful, the next step would have been an in person interview at Envelio in Cologne, Germany.
