Pros

salary, company car, and a company phone (you're on call 24/7 when you're a DM)

Cons

This position is not for someone who wants to be able to enjoy their weekends or have a reasonable work life balance. You are told that the DMT/DM position is "50 hours a week" which is completely untrue and you will work anywhere from 60 - 70+ hours per week with start times as early as 5:00am and leaving as late as 2:00am for special buy. I was also told during the recruitment process that I would only have to work one weekend per month which was very deceptive due to the fact that during the DMT in-store training you're only allowed ONE weekend off per month. This is the case no matter what division you work for (O'Fallon, Denton, Olathe, Batavia, etc.). The in-store training phase is pure grunt work and very physical (unloading pallets - throwing truck, cashiering, dealing with rude customers, stocking the freezer) and essentially does not prepare you to be an actual District Manager. The job is very "hands on" and you are treated like a store associate until you make it to DM phase 1 which is about 6 months after you start.

Pros

Competitive pay and excellent benefits. Hard working and motivated staff

Cons

Minimum staff at all times means the store manager has to do a majority of the work(stocking, merchandising, cleaning ect), Poor work life balance. No opportunity for advancement from the store manager position. A dead end job so to speak
