Pros

The benefits are great in comparison to what I have heard other companies will offer. I have been with the company 6 years and get 20 days a year PTO. Fast paced environment very physical work. 25 hours a week is considered full time. Insurance paid disability during maternity leave.

Cons

25 hours a week is considered full time so when stores are over staffed this may be all you get to reduce overtime pay. Very frugal company but yet they provide cars and other luxuries to district managers and higher. Store managers work harder than they do and dont get rewarded. Pay difference from shift to store should be higher. Payscale cap at $13.90 per hour for associates. District managers do the hiring for stores and alot of times do not get good candidates. Store managers are salary at 50 hrs per week and often have to work way more than that.

Pros

* Great Benefits, vacation and personal time. * You learn how to run a grocery store, from every single aspect (from cleaning to stoking shelves, working at the register, checking dates and rotation, writing reports and audits, well, everything...).

Cons

* Back breaking work. * Lack of encouragement and recognition. * Poor communication from the Divisional office, District Managers and so on... * Lack of consistency and organization. Very unproductive. * Lack of motivation from the Divisional office and down the chain... * No work/life balance whatsoever. * District Managers are very unexperienced and don't know how to run a business. * No real customer service experience for their customers. Everybody is running all over the place, have to finish tasks, work at the register and help customers at the SAME time. Every store works on "SURVIVAL MODE". * Overall, employees at all levels are not happy with the company. Pretty much people work there for the money, but that's it. That's why the turnover is ridiculously high! * Only 2 employees or max of 3 per shift (in most stores), even when the store sales are over $1 million a month.

Pros

cant think of any real pros that other jobs dont offer

Cons

get use to closing shift getting off at 10pm or later and opening at 6am the next day. while being pressured to work faster do to the fact that aldi runs a employee labor less than 10% so you will never have extra hands to help with the work load and keep up with customer flow. also get use to only having 1 day off if your lucky. they schedule you for 40+ hours but you will actually put in close to 50 hr a week
