ASML cares about you as a person and not just a head count number.

Cons

ASML will ask more and more of you until you can say no. It's easy to let them take your work life balance away if you aren't careful, but they respect you and your time.

Pros

- Super interesting industry - Work on a product that is the single most important piece of the chip manufacturing process and therefore one of the most important technologies of our time - Nice workplace and people - A lot of holidays

Cons

- Software process is clunky and outdated which leads to a lot of lost time and frustration - Humongous amount of technical debt in the codebase with little care for good software engineering practices - Old language versions, old compilers, old tools in general. It's not just a matter of age of the technology in itself, newer tools bring a lot features that make engineers more productive. - Compensation is not great in general; it's bad in comparison with top tech companies. And when you factor the Dutch government hunger for your hard earned money it gets even worse.

Very little technical support - you're thrown into the deep end with little to no help. Over-tasked, micromanaged and very tight deadlines.
