Pros

Great place to network and gain valuable working experience. A lot of the software development tools and methodology is industry standard.

Cons

Work/life balance is terrible. Most projects require you to work like a slave. Low pay is terrible. Depending on the project, some managers get away with unprofessional behavior because how valuable they are to the project. From my experience, AFS seems to be a revolving door.
