Pros

My direct mgmt communicates openly and well. Flex hours, teleworking, autonomy. Retiree healthcare still in place. Good projects and a chance to "show your stuff" if you are inclined to go there. Good people with good intentions and potential but limited support due to "old" Andersen mentality.

Cons

Poor 401K match especially with no traditional retirement package. Too long from hire date to eligibility for 401K match...12 to 18 months!!! Very poor severance plan for Services sector. Healthcare plan in USA needs some work. Copays are too high. Service from providers not at optimum. Prescription drug plan flawed. PTO plan encourages people to work sick and come back to work too soon from surgeries. Too few holidays in the USA. Off the norm by 3 days or more. Need salary increases to keep pace with healthcare premium cost increases at least. Managers need more input to salary and bonus amounts....all dictated by HR. Need more experienced hires if company is to progress....too many new grads just don't know how to get the job done.

Pros

This company has lots of real estate (pun intended) to allow a self motivated person to learn, grow and move around the organization. I would whole heartedly recommend Accenture for a new college graduate, technical person in developing country or technology / business professional whom has stalled in their career and needs some fresh wind/challenge. Overall Accenture is a great technology company that will provide a spring board and wealth of professional contacts as you grow, rebuild and reposition your career.

Cons

Accenture is investing heavily in low cost and developing IT areas for call centers and backend support. The financial incentives for experienced technology workers in the US are not what they used to be. Albeit there's still opportunity but its harder to get at. I guess this could be an indicator to the saturatng need for IT services and outsourcing in the American markets and Accenture's already large size.

Pros

# Our management consulting business is growing. We have more than 15,000 professionals and we are still growing. With growth comes the opportunity to learn and progress. We need people that can develop quickly into leadership positions to help us continue our growth. Accenture is the place to build an exciting and worthwhile career over the long term. # We develop strategies and then bring them to life. We are more than just theorists—Accenture is known for developing pragmatic strategies that drive high performance. We support our client’s right through the strategy phase until implementation is complete. We do more than simply make recommendations and then move on to the next project. # We understand the challenges our clients face because we face them too. We understand the pressures our clients face—from the inside. As a public corporation we face the same pressure to publish and comment on our results each quarter. Like our clients, we must innovate to stay ahead, and what we do must be profitable. # Critical, leading edge thinking. While our approach is strongly pragmatic and results-oriented, we know that keen business insight and leading-edge thought leadership are the engines that drive what we do. This combination makes for an extremely stimulating work environment. # Personal career flexibility. Our professional development structure can accommodate different paces of career development. If you like your work and perform well, we do all we can to encourage you to grow with us, continue career long learning, while promoting teamwork and collaboration along potentially multiple career journeys. # Learn pragmatic business skills, not just consulting skills. The opportunity to work with clients to develop and execute strategy provides an invaluable learning opportunity around what it takes actually to run a business. This approach—and the experience you get—will make you a valuable person to have on any team. # Unique skill sets are valued. Accenture values academic achievement, but we see beyond pieces of paper. We also look for energetic individuals with relevant experience where responsibility for achieving results has been shown. We take the trouble to see you as a whole, and value the different skill sets you bring. # Teamwork and a collaborative mindset are critical. We are not interested in hiring individuals with elitist or arrogant mindsets. We value honest and confident individuals with integrity, who appreciate and understand the value of having different skills and capabilities. These values enable our people—to leverage the strengths of the whole team to achieve results for our clients. # The chance to use technology effectively as a business tool. Businesses and governments are increasingly dependent on technology, but too many simply implement technology in a vacuum. Accenture has developed a profound understanding of how technology contributes to high performance. You will have the privilege of collaborating with professionals with deep expertise in technology. # We have lived through a strategic transformation. In response to opportunities and competitive threats, Accenture executed its own strategic transformation very successfully. We launched and built a new brand, we went public, we built a new outsourcing business and we have led the way in creating a large workforce in India and other emerging economies. So we know first hand the challenges of change.
