Pros

Accenture takes care of their employees. The benefits are good - paid time-off, health insureance and bonuses. Most clients respect Accenture as a company having experts in almost all areas that matter to them. Working for Accenture will be good for your career - learning a lot from your managers and peers. Accenture puts emphasis on work-life balance, probably because it's also the one that pushes you to work, work and work and then tries to balance that with flexibility in working arrangements. Executives are generally good - they have good training and works well with people. A lot of these executives either move up in Accenture or move out to good positions outside Accenture.

Cons

The work can get stressful and requires a lot of overtime. When you are on a client site, you normally work more hours than the regular employees there. Although people are generally good all-around, there could be others that are not very technically but tries to sound like experts. Employees would also have to be willing to travel around different clients when needed. There are short-term and long-term projects but it's not like being a regular employee of a company where you can stay as long as you practically want. There are cases when clients are not friendly to consultants.

Pros

Outstanding training and mentoring programs at all levels, diversity of experience both in terms of career skills and industries, travel opportunities both domestically and internationally.

Cons

Can be bureaucratic. Market needs to want to purchase your skills in order to succeed and be promoted. Promotions are highly competitive.

Pros

challenging, enjoyable work with smart people. The Strategy practice had some of the best career opportunities available. Extensive mentoring opportunities and detailed work expectations/performance reviews were just some of the benefits in career coaching. Talent was recognized and rewared appropriately. Extensive training opportunities and knowledge management resources. Dedicated research assistance was instrumental in producing presentations on the fly.

Cons

constant travel on the consulting side; pressure to sell follow-on work. Accenture lifestyle not really geared to married couples with children. The need to be on-site for clients meant many, many nights away from home. Monday through Thursday would be at client work place; Fridays would be in Accenture home office- hoteling concept took some getting used to. best for young, single workers.
