Great product, great reputation, great talents. In Germany currently only the Merchant Services is a great place to work where the leadership truly lives the Amex corporate values.

Cons

Poor leadership in B2B payment area of Commercial Payments. Sales team has to follow predefined unsuccessful approach since years. Leadership in Germany not courageous enough to trust its sales team.

Pros

Highly visible Fortune 500 financial services company, with very good reputation. It can be a spring board to other, potentially better opportunities.

Cons

The usual bla-bla about corp. mission and vision and how important their people are. In reality they don't really understand the concept of loyalty and that can't just be expected without being willing to offer it. The same goes for trust it is expected -which is nothing new. But you have no right to demand and expect what you are not willing to give. Otherwise, high expectations, little help offered or given when requested, long hours, no work-life balance, but a great image.
