Pros

- Smartest group of people I've ever worked with: it feels like I'm constantly learning, across all divisions - Hard tech: we work on hard problems, with interesting tech - Customer driven: coming from an R&D company, it's great to see how much impact our products are having for our customers - Growth: the company is growing so fast, the only way to adapt is to grow with it. New opportunities / products / teams regularly open up, so it never feels like you're stuck. Internal teams also operate like their own mini-startups, so you will learn how to build products, scale teams, successfully ship to customers - High autonomy + bottom-up culture - Feedback culture: you will continuously (or seek) feedback, from peers, managers or anyone else in the company.

Cons

- Performance based culture: related to the feedback culture above, you don't have to wait 6 months / 1 year to know how you are performing. But it also means you have to pull your own weight to contribute to the success of the company - 50h is not for everyone. Do not work here if you expect a 9-5 job. - You can easily get the impression that everyone is working all the time, when in reality there is always someone working. There is a strong emphasis on being self regulated

Pros

It's of course extremely difficult to build a $15b b2b company in a very competitive industry. But Applied Intuition has managed to do it. You have to give kudos to leadership (the CEO, CTO, and President in particular) and to the team for such an incredible feat. And the company is still cooking: I think Applied Intuition has the potential to be a $100b+ company. Another great thing about Applied is that throughout its history, leadership has been attentive to even-keeled feedback (complaining about encouraging likes on linkedin posts is not good feedback...): there are many surveys given for the purpose of sending feedback upstream. Just from looking at the books he's read on his website, it's clear the CEO is a thoughtful guy with a "philosopher" vibe. The CTO counter-balances the CEO well in many ways, and I think together they make a good team. The company is transparent, which means it's a great place to learn. I truly believe that Applied is one of the best places to work for future founders.

Cons

Applied Intuition has it's problems, but as mentioned above, I think the company does a good job of getting feedback and addressing the issues over time. One thing that could break the feedback loop is if the company starts to have too many "lieutenants" instead of people who can think and act for themselves, since that would prevent feedback or pushback from reaching the founders.

Pros

- smart people - you come across genuinely nice people - you’ll trauma bond and make friends - free lunch & snacks

Cons

- recent positive reviews are fake. Recruiters were told to write them and were even given QR codes for it. - the company is a joke that prioritizes speed above all. Release timelines are too short for our products to function properly, so customers are pissed. - CEO is a walking inferiority complex. It’s like he holds grudges against founders who are doing well - he’s so self-absorbed he can’t stand to see others succeed. He thinks he’s this amazing leader - he’s not. It’s pathetic. - WLB is non-existent - you won’t get paid what you’re worth, and they recently announced that they won’t be giving employees anymore equity refreshers or compensation adjustments - so why even join at this point? (I’m waiting to vest some more equity before heading out) - Don’t ever go to HR. For anything. Nothing will change. The toxic culture won’t change. Managers (including the CEO) will continue to make it a hostile environment with their aggression and discriminatory jokes about race, gender and disability without consequence. Going to HR will just put a target on your back. - You’ll be verbally and emotionally abused, but then gaslit to believe you’re lucky to work there. - your car window might break from falling pine cones in the parking lot (I wish I was kidding), and you’ll have to pay for it yourself.
