Pros

Good amount of engineers are nice, smart and hardworking.

Cons

The company is a marketing machine, internally and externally. Weekly all hands meeting trying to make the place cool. Hiring process is a scam. The recruiting team cheats systematically. You will feel so welcomed before you join. Then you learned that all that is part of the training. Most of the posts here with 5 starts are their marketing, it is promoted by the CEO. They will even ask to "like" their online posts because that is the loyal/right thing to do.

Pros

Good sales organization. Splashy demos are a constant focus.

Cons

They tell themselves people are "self selecting" out of the company according to their values, but in reality they're just culling legitimate concerns about unsustainable growth and questionable practices. The people remaining behind are too new, too desperate, or too tired to object -- and it results in dangerous group-think. "Emotional self-regulation" actually means "won't complain when foisted under unreasonable and unprofessional demands." There's a heck of a lot of unauthentic activity on these reviews. Notice how every very detailed and specific terrible review is punctuated with a repetitive glowing generic reviews? Those are the junior recruiters being forced by senior management to repeat the company mantra. Just think what the score would be without them.

Pros

- Coworkers are intelligent, driven, and generally fun to work with. There is a camaraderie within the teams that gets built during trying times. - Company is extremely transparent. Reviews of the organization scores, finances, wins and losses in the market are all openly discussed. - Product line seems well positioned. The gap between Applied and competitors is closing, but still seems like the Applied platform is the technical leader.

Cons

- WLB is nonexistent. Every sprint is treated as if it is 'do or die'. One of the company values states that you should, "Be Self Regulated" but then treats so many cases as P0 and P1 that the only way to keep up is to burn out. - Company recruiting filters very hard on people having experience at a successful startup or at FAANG which makes filling experienced roles challenging. - Worrying signs from the market with a number of customers reducing spend or going out of business entirely. - Seems like a number of the most senior employees are leaving which will be a challenge for the team to replace.
