Pros

R&D work, good benefits. There is a very good potential if the management you are working with is good and focused.

Cons

Too many managers and directors. Your contribution is not appreciated as it gets lost because of too many managers involved in a project. Managers are worried about themselves and no efforts to train and develop the new talents. If you are in a particular division, you get a chance to work with others but there is no new learning involved.

Pros

Cutting edge technology. Very dynamic. Never boring. Intense. Challenging. Lots of bright, talented and creative people. There is always somethin new to learn.

Cons

Poor raises. Shutdowns. Constant layoffs. Reduced workforce with increased workloads. In fighting for control can make it difficult to work efficiently. Poor review processes. Men favored over women for promotions and who you know is more important than job skills.
