Pros

Good pay comparing to smaller companies

Cons

Too much BS in management talk, and they step on you for the sake of the bottom line. Difficult to get promoted from inside; people leave and come back in a year.

Pros

A fast-track course in legal remedies: you'll walk away with solid knowledge of labor rights… out of sheer necessity!

Cons

Total lack of transparency: Major decisions are made behind closed doors with no explanation to the employees affected. Questionable HR practices: Some decisions appear to be driven by factors that have little to do with skills or performance. Zero employee protection: If you encounter a problem, expect absolutely no support from the company—only an incredible level of hostility. Nonexistent internal communication: Responses are vague, delayed, or simply never arrive when it comes to sensitive matters. Atmosphere of uncertainty: Sudden and unexplained decisions can put your entire career at risk.

Pros

Time off policy is flexible. Some years there is a full company shut down the week of Christmas, which allows one to see their family over the holidays in the US. HR takes harassment very seriously and wants to ensure the safety of their employees.

Cons

As a young female engineer, I have experienced and witnessed multiple instances of sexual harassment and sexist comments. In addition, Applied does not always prioritize keeping their current employees, and oftentimes the best way to get promoted and fairly compensated is to go to another company and then try to get rehired at Applied. Furthermore, they primarily require everyone to be in office full time even if someone's job could be done completely remote. Some employees can request exemptions to this, but it is unclear what would constitute an approval for remote or hybrid work.
