Pros

Good work mates and work from home options

Cons

Average 3-5 redundancies per year, no job security, full of favoritism, no work life balance, minimum bonus and limited job progression. Not worth the long hours we put into the job with no return. If you're not a favourite of few managers and leaders, you'll be completely ignored for promotions and bonus, despite giving maximum effort. It's like an old style traditional company where hustle culture and pushing people down to climb the ladder is promoted. Lots of gossip as well, if you're not part of the gossip gang, you won't know the internal politics of the company. No professional development. We are told not to ask for professional development and be glad we have a job.

Pros

Awesome teams, lovely day to day culture, expertise available to work with and high commitment to quality work for clients, integrity of delivery methods.

Cons

Disconnected leadership, lack of management involvement in decision-making, poor communication - redundancies managed without discussion on impact on client work, projects, pipeline and growth strategy, no warning given - creates constant anxiety and uncertainty beyond what is necessary in current economic environment. They additionally change other conditions such as extending the forced leave period at Christmas to three weeks instead of two, which has a significant impact on all staff, particularly families juggling school holidays and other commitments, but also others who may have already used that leave on another planned event. Staff then have to either take unpaid leave or buy leave due to these holidays being unplanned which has a big knock on impact on family budgets. The business floods employees with positive messaging around health and wellbeing, opportunities to connect, socialise, do yoga, learn Te Reo, meditate and so on, then undermines this by massively disrespecting the basics that are the foundation of wellbeing - a level of security that you will know in advance if changes are being made to your role and unit, and having a level of control over time to spend with your family. It's been hugely disappointing and undermined trust and confidence in the organisation for all who have been part of it this year.
