Pros

I cannot recommend Aurecon highly enough. As a multi-national firm, it stands out for its genuine commitment to the best interests of its employees, which likely stems from its owner-operated model and the smaller size of the New Zealand industry. For a corporate, Aurecon excels in respecting personal boundaries and promoting a healthy work-life balance, as demonstrated by their excellent flexible work policy. The opportunity to engage in a diverse range of projects alongside talented and approachable colleagues makes Aurecon a fantastic workplace.

Cons

When looking at Aurecon as a future place of work, make sure you ask about the pipeline, and what each office across the country specialises in. Generally the office location in which you are based can be a big determining factor in the potential markets you may be able engage with.

Pros

Good people and generally good managers. Work is interesting and company values generally align with my own.

Cons

Difficult to progress consistently, can be very subjective, based heavily on who can/will advocate for you. Also varies widely team to team. Can do same work but get very different pay because of location and team's cost centres. Been stingy with promotions and bonuses the last 18 months.

Pros

Seems it has a 'big' title could make it easier to find next job

Cons

- Bosses would acquiesce in bullying behaviors and discrimation from seniors to juniors, not very friendly to non-local people - Seniors cannot take the responsibility, they usually spend around 1-2 hours in the afternoon to have their own coffee chat - Cannot win big projects within 2024, many good project are won by Atkin/Aecom/Arup, sometimes it is very confusing when the bosses think what they did is better than other big companies - Pay is lower than the same positions in the similar companies and the pay of ppl with working experience may be lower than fg, but the expectation is much more higher than fg - Team structure changes 3-4 times in one year, it is very confusing why the hardworking ppl just leave the team so quickly
