Pros

There's a lot of energetic and passionate people at BNT, working on some potentially marvellous and world-changing drugs. And the company does want to "walk to the talk", be innovative and do things right.

Cons

Unfortunately, the reality is that BioNTech is chaotic and poorly run. There are almost no processes or structure, so much is done at the last moment and in a slap-dash way that it's almost a company standard. Management would rather show up at public appearances and photo ops or talk loftily about "mission" and "passion" than try to make the company work. This doesn't bode well for the future.

Pros

Decent pay, smart colleagues, Many experts in their fields.

Cons

Little chance for personal growth, training is given only at the most basic level, a very present hierarchy where information is rarely shared. Everything feels very competitive in-house with little communication. Many people working >8 hours with no compensation.

Pros

Cutting edge research at a well capitalized company. There are resources to support just about any kind of project.

Cons

C-suite leadership does a poor job laying out the mission and providing quarter-on-quarter direction about what they want to accomplish. The German CEO is a scientist, not a business person, and it comes across in messaging. There are too many silos between the US and Germany that are the result of cultural differences.
