Pros

Projects are interesting and you get to help develop cutting edge technologies. Everyone working on the projects really knows their stuff and come from many different backgrounds which provides opportunities to work with all sorts of interesting people. It's a large corporation and has the ups and downs of one such as great benefits but also has a high amount of segregation between levels. The majority of the employees are engineers, a lot more than similar companies. Shared offices are better than cubicles.

Cons

The pay was decent but now it's no longer good. All sorts of new technologies and products are being created but it feels as if it has no impact on how well the company is doing. I feel as if I have no opportunity for growth or promotion. Work load will fluctuate between extreme highs and lows. No more free drinks, subsidized foods or free lunches.

Pros

Good pay. Technical challenges abound. Great team of very competent Engineers. I've never worked with such a great bunch of teammates as at Broadcom.

Cons

Beginning to become a stale work environment. Morale is at an all time low. (I've been here 9 years) Under staffed to complete tasks. We are winning new contracts but no new head count. It will cost us in the long run.

Broadcom is up and coming and has a stong pull in many different fields therefore is better able to manage during a recession than many other companies. The employees are hard working and very motivated to work hard. Communication moves quick with constant emails throughout. heavy workload and weak communication between groups. I like the environment, but the dress code is loose, which i personally dont like. however that may be a plus for other people. But not too much negatives. although i dont like the fact that they waste money just like other companies. yes!
